India has such a wide range of climatic factors that it's impossible to pin down the best time to visit weather-wise with any certainty as climatic conditions in the far north are distinctly different to those of the extreme south. Most of India has three seasons:
Cool Season - October to March
Hot season - April to June.
Rainy / Monsoon - Mid June to September.
  
October to March tend to be the most pleasant months for most of the parts of the country.  
The mountainous areas in North India usually have snowfall between November and March. Kashmir & Ladakh in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and the Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur in the state of Himachal Pradesh are at their most accessible between May and October.
 
The best time to visit Sikkim and the areas of north-eastern India is March and August.

What are the visa requirements for traveling to India?

A valid visa obtained from an Indian embassy or consulate worldwide is required before you enter India. All foreign nationals are also required to register at their nearest consulate or Foreigners Regional Registration Office. However, it is mandatory to submit registration certificate back at the time of your departure from India. Yellow fever certificate is mandatory for travellers from South America or Yellow-fever pandemic regions.

The units of Indian currency are the Rupee and Paisa (100 Paisa equal 1 Rupee). Paper money is in denominations of Rupees 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000. Coins are in denominations of Rupees 1, 2 and 5. There are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currency or travelers’ checks that can be brought by a tourist to India. However a Declaration form is filled (only for the amount which is more than USD 10,000) on the arrival at the Indian airport. By filling up this form you can also get your money exchanged back in the original currency without any problem. Any kind of money exchange should be done only through authorized money- changers. You may ask our guides and they will tell you the right center or place to get the money exchanged. Please note that no Indian currency can be imported or exported, except for Rupee travelers checks. There are 24- hour exchange facilities available at Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai international airports.

Most international brands like American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa Cards are well-accepted. But it is always advisable to carry some local currency in hand when traveling to hilly regions.

In India, 220 volt, 50Hz is the normal electric supply. The sockets are round & are 2/3 pin variety.

It is not advisable to eat from road-side, and/or footpath shops, as the risk for carrying Gastroenteritis, typhoid, cholera or jaundice are high due to unhygienic water or food. Quality of drinking water may not be a problem at hilly areas. Although, many international brands are available.

Yes, you can but to be fair we advice you to book your air ticket in your country as air tickets are normally expensive if booked in India to be sent to your country. We advice our guest to drink bottled water, bottled drinks. Coffee Tea should be taken hot. As hotels have their own water filter functions the water in the hotels can be used for cleaning the tooth and body but avoid drinking this water. Avoid eating spicy at least at the start of your journey to India. If you are traveling without a guide in India you may ask the waiter not to put any chilies to the ordered dish. It is suggested to stick to only cooked foods and to eat fresh fruits after removing their skin. After taking the above precautions you will realize that India has a wonderful cuisine and rarely any other place meet the verities of the vegetable as in India.

Photography is a great fun in India as you will have enough sunlight most of the time.
